As a Clinical Pharmacist, a caregiver in this role will provide clinical pharmacy services within Pediatric Critical Care at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. The caregiver will support hospitalized pediatric patients and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary care teams in a highly specialized critical care environment. The primary focus will be pediatric inpatient pharmacy practice, with opportunities to gain experience across additional specialty areas including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) and inpatient pharmacy operations.
This role provides an opportunity to develop specialized pediatric pharmacy expertise while supporting safe and effective medication therapy for complex pediatric patients.
This is a PRN role. A caregiver in this position will work variable weekday shifts, which may include 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM.
Weekend coverage is required approximately every eighth weekend, with shifts typically scheduled from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM or 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM.
This role includes one holiday per year, with holiday coverage rotating between designated holiday groups.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services.
- Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
- Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards.
- Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences.
- Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- PharmD or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Board certification
- Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or 2 years of relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience.
- Previous inpatient experience strongly preferred
Physical Requirements
:
- Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
