SummaryServes as preliminary contact for the Ambulatory Care Enterprise. Gathers and analyzes patient demographic and payor data to achieve optimal reimbursement for the Metro Health System (MHS). Ensures appropriate patient registration, scheduling, precertification and authorization for services. Upholds the standards of the system wide customer service standards of the Metro Health System.
Qualifications RequiredHS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
Possesses one of the following- One year of work experience in medical billing or patient registration.
- Education related to medical billing or patient registration from an accredited institution.
- Possess current certification as a Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA).
All qualified applicants must pass the PSR pre-employment screening test with a score of 75% or better and the post-employment test of 80% or better.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred- Two years relevant work experiences and/or education.
- May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
- May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
- See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
- Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
- Finger dexterity to operate office equipment is required.
- May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.
- Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
- Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
