Position Overview

The Guest Service Associate/Valet is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. Duties include parking and retrieving guest vehicles promptly and safely, assisting guests with luggage, delivering and picking up guest luggage when applicable, and ensuring a pleasant arrival and departure experience.

  • Starting Pay $10.50 – $11.00 per hour PLUS cash tips daily
  • Day / evening and weekend shifts available
  • Select shifts earn bonus pay

Compensation

Hourly base pay range $10.50 – $11.00 per hour plus $9 – $11 per hour in tips. Select shifts earn bonus pay.

Work Schedule

Potential work schedule includes weekdays, weekends, holidays, and all shifts.

Summary

The Guest Service Associate is responsible for exceptional hospitality services, parking and retrieving guest vehicles safely, and assisting with luggage during arrival and departure.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients. (25%)
  • Use proper phone etiquette and greet guests within five feet. (10%)
  • Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously; assists with bell services and luggage. (20%)
  • Provides directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; delivers messages or items as requested. (10%)
  • Explains parking rates, collects claim checks, maintains ticket information, calculates revenue, and processes payment. (35%)

Qualifications

Education
  • High school diploma or GED.
Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and pass a criminal background and drug screen.
Work Experience
  • One (1) month related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
Skills
  • Ability to read and write standard English; read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings to guests, clients, and other employees.
  • Basic math skills with American currency and time calculations.
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable.
  • Perform parallel parking.
SCOPE & Responsibilities

Authority to Act

The job is fairly routine; operations follow established practices and procedural guidelines. Decisions are made within specific operational instructions and departmental guidelines. Errors in judgment could affect the smooth and efficient operation of the department.

Budget Responsibility

The employee has control over resources available only.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Regular duties include talking or hearing, sitting or standing for extended periods, running, walking, handling objects, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

Working Environment

The majority of work will be performed outdoors for extended periods, including potentially the entire shift duration. Employees are subject to environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold weather; protection from weather conditions may be provided but not guaranteed.

Travel

Travel of up to 5% may be required.
