PMO Sr Project Manager
Note: Requires a minimum of three days per week in the Brooklyn, Ohio office.
Job SummaryManages enterprise projects, programs, and teams with support, in compliance with the Company's defined project management standards with the goal of delivering project objectives on time and within budget. The methodology being used within those standards may be Waterfall, Scrum (Agile), Kanban (Agile), or some other. Plans, develops and implements the project lifecycle consistent with project objectives. Adheres to appropriate methodology role responsibilities detailed within the MMO standards.
Provides guidance as necessary to other team members with the goal of process improvement and overall project leadership quality. Collaborates cross‑functionally as required and assists with removing barriers that arise.
- Manages all stages of the projects assigned with minimal support, including planning, implementing and monitoring activities. Works with line managers and team members to develop appropriate methodology plans and activities, with tasks, resources, milestones, cost analysis, and timelines. Provides all levels of project communications and works with project sponsors or product owners to resolve issues, address changes, and identify risks.
- Provides appropriate business analysis by working closely with business areas to understand the business need and to identify alternative technical, architectural, and design solutions to meet that need. Identifies future business needs, especially from a strategic perspective.
- Contributes to ongoing project leadership process improvement by peer review of other projects.
- Provides project leadership methodology education to share lessons learned and best practices with peer project managers; trains business areas on their vital roles in projects. Emphasizes continuous education.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Information or Health Administration (or equivalent work experience).
- 3 years’ experience managing successful projects using a formal methodology life cycle; for senior role, 5 years of experience and software development methodology.
- Appropriate methodology certification preferred (PMI).
- Strong knowledge of Waterfall project management and/or Agile scrum master methodologies/processes.
- Working or advanced knowledge of the applications development life cycle and infrastructure processes.
- Working knowledge of appropriate methodology/process.
- Experience with data analysis and presentation skills.
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment and maintain confidentiality.
