Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer

Our client is searching for a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer to serve as the technical authority over their IBM z/OS environment
. If you’re a mainframe expert who thrives on performance, stability, modernization, and mission‑critical infrastructure — this role puts you at the center of it all.

This is a high‑impact, deep‑infrastructure position (not application development) supporting a large enterprise with 24/7 operational demands.

What You’ll Lead & Deliver

• 🧠 Act as the SME for all things mainframe across infrastructure, apps, and vendor teams
• ⚙️ Install, configure, tune, and upgrade IBM z/OS + major third‑party tools (Top Secret, CA‑1, BMC AMI, Endevor, MIM, VPS)
• 💾 Oversee storage, tape management
  , and disaster recovery readiness
• 📈 Drive capacity planning
  , performance optimization & resource utilization
• 🧩 Ensure mainframe security compliance with corporate standards
• 👥 Mentor junior administrators and guide engineering execution

What You Bring

• 🏆
  10+ years engineering/supporting large enterprise mainframes
• 🏅 Expert in IBM z/OS administration
  , performance tuning, installs & patching
• 🔍 Deep knowledge of CICS
  , Job Trac
  , IDMS & major vendor tools (CA, BMC, LRS)
• 🗄️ Strong understanding of storage/tape systems & replication technologies
• 🌍 Experience delivering services in 24/7, global environments
