Lead Postgres DBA

We are seeking a Lead Postgres DBA for an expanding technology-driven organization in Cleveland, Ohio. This individual will be responsible for the performance, reliability, and uptime of databases. Candidates must have hands‑on experience with Postgres and must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Potential relocation assistance available. This position is perfect for someone who thrives on working with Postgres, SQL Server, and various open‑source database platforms in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.

• Administer, optimize, and support Postgres, SQL Server, and other relational databases
• Collaborate with developers to enhance data structures, query optimization, and scalability
• Monitor database performance and address availability issues
• Manage backup strategies, perform regular restore tests, and ensure disaster recovery readiness
• Assist with upgrades, patching, and environment planning
• Enforce user access controls and security measures
• Contribute to IT improvement projects and explore emerging database technologies

• Proven experience managing relational databases, particularly with Postgres expertise
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix and Microsoft server environments
• Strong troubleshooting skills, capacity planning, and experience with monitoring tools
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative problem‑solving approach
• Technical training or relevant degree preferred, but practical experience is key
• Available for on‑call support rotation as needed
• Ability to lift or install technical equipment (up to ~50 lbs.)

• Experience supporting Oracle applications
• Knowledge of SharePoint, Visio, or similar software tools
• Previous involvement in process improvement or IT modernization projects
