Job Summary

The Global Master Data Manager will define global data standards and governance of all enterprise master data and processes to create a digitalization that transforms business. This role is responsible for working with each business unit and function to define and maintain the documented standards of master data.

This position reports to the ERP Project Lead and is based in our corporate office in Mayfield Heights, OH.

Responsibilities
  • Design, establish, and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy and data architecture strategy tailored to the needs of our organization.
  • Lead efforts to identify and address complex data quality issues, conduct root cause analyses, and devise effective remediation plans.
  • Coordinate data governance forums or committees, engaging stakeholders at senior levels to drive alignment and decision-making.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure data quality and provide regular metrics and reports to stakeholders to establish and measure data risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to data governance standards and best practices across the organization.
  • Train and onboard new hires and role holders across various departments to enhance their understanding of data management principles and their roles in maintaining data integrity.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and industry trends related to data management and governance, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to align data management initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Partner with lead Business Analysts to ensure requirements gathering includes all information required to determine the solution architecture.
  • Research solutions.
  • Perform POC evaluations.
  • Recommend an implementation approach.
  • Communicate the solution to the development/implementation team.
  • Identify and help resolve technical dependencies between implementation teams.
  • Help resolve issues with the architecture raised during implementation.
  • Gatekeep the solution to ensure it is implemented according to architecture.
  • Review solution designs to ensure alignment with the solution architecture and business need.
Must Haves
  • Bachelor’s degree or 3-5+ years equivalent experience in data management with a focus on master data processes and governance.
  • The ability to demonstrate ERP and MDM proficiency.
  • Experience managing projects and working with a PMO.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and to lead all levels of ERP users and teams.
  • Flexibility to travel minimally (10%) when necessary.

  • Experience as an IT professional implementing or supporting a global ERP solution in the distribution or manufacturing industry.
  • SAP S4/HANA, Microsoft 365 Dynamics, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Power Bi (or comparable business intelligence and data visualization tool) experience.
