SummarySenior level position capable of working independently under general direction. Holds technical responsibility for system generation, hardware and software management, and internal training in the operation and use of hardware and software systems. Evaluates, recommends, designs and/or modifies hardware and software utilized for database access. Works along with other Analysts, Engineers, and Systems Administrators in maintaining an effective database management system.
Assists in developing standards for all relational databases. Will also provide technical assistance to application programmers, review application coding for efficiency or to prevent problems, and may be called upon to perform application program coding as needed. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer services standards of The Metro Health System.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, technical institute degree/certificate, or equivalent Database Administration experience in addition to the experience outlined below.
- Minimum of five years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator.
- Familiarity with multiple operating systems including Windows, Linux, AIX.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, good negotiation skills.

- Experience with Oracle administration
- Experience with Cache Databases and Epic Physical Demands:
- May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
