Duties
  • Serves as an IT Specialist in the DLA Information Operations J62 PEO, J62X System Applications and Products (SAP) Platform, specifically in the Distribution Standard System (DSS)/ Warehouse Management System (WMS) Portfolio (J62XD
    ).
  • Product Owner for Nuclear and Space Enterprise supporting processes within the WMS Program Management Office delivering and sustaining WMS (Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Transportation Management (TM), ERP Central Component (ECC), S/4

    HANA, etc.) across the DLA Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs).
  • Advises teams of functional analysts and IT professionals in planning, designing, training, initial fielding, operation, and maintenance of supported applications and business information technology systems.
  • Utilizes advanced computer architectures and hardware in combination with Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) warehouse and transportation software, and applies Audit Controls.
  • Manages and oversees technical and operational aspects of the program, ensuring system performance and effectiveness aligns with DLA equities and DoD stakeholder requirements.
  • Facilitates cross‑functional communication and collaboration with stakeholders including Procurement, Finance, Policy/Planning, external customers, and major supply chains.
  • Translates business requirements into technical specifications for enhancements and modifications.
  • Implements and manages IT solutions that adhere to DoD regulations and security requirements, including Defense Transportation Regulations.
  • Provides technical guidance, assistance, and direction in areas such as architecture, hosting, infrastructure support, capacity planning, information assurance, business continuity, and advanced computer networking design, configuration, and implementation.
  • Contributes to policies, plans, goals, and objectives for projects, programs, systems, or operations, coordinating with customers, stakeholders, subcontractors, and vendors for system integration.
  • Leads development teams on enhancements related to DLA Disposition and Distribution processes (e.g., Preservation/Packaging/Packing/Marking, Care of Stock in Storage, Supply Discrepancy Report, Nuclear Weapons Related Material, Theater Consolidation and Shipping Point, Containerization and Consolidation Point, Intermodal Hub, Air Lines of Communication, Seavan programs).

Qualifications
  • One year of specialized experience directly related to the position (or GS‑13 equivalent); must meet eligibility requirements and other regulatory requirements by closing date.
  • Experience overseeing risk management analysis, modeling, metric gathering/analysis, and process development to identify program risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience coordinating, monitoring, and directing systems phases: planning, analysis, design, build, test, deployment, and implementation of development projects.
  • Participation in “gap analysis” and development/implementation of reports, interfaces, conversions, and extensions.
