Business Intelligence Engineer

The Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for delivering innovative BI solutions and reliable and accurate data marts that help drive business growth and make operations more efficient.

• Designs, builds, and deploys BI solutions for both internal and external customers and maintains and supports data analytics platforms.
• Recognizes data trends and corrects data quality issues quickly, completely, and permanently.
• Collaborates with IT peers and business partners to focus on production support, service requests, and roadmap initiatives to ensure a balanced delivery of services and solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Provides support for operational systems by troubleshooting and testing (PostgreSQL, Big Query, BI tools).
• Creates database queries, stored procedures, functions, and views as needed.
• Shares domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
• Maintains BI documentation and source system data mapping documentation.
• Follows the software development life cycle in all development efforts.
• Creates and maintains Business Intelligence documentation.
• Performs continual remediation of BI systems and data structures to improve overall performance as well as data accuracy, integrity, and security.
• Provides ad hoc reports as needed/identified in support of the business where self-service is not available/possible.
• Other duties as required.

• Strong analytical skills with ability to translate business needs to technical specifications.
• Hands-on experience with database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) framework.
• High level of expertise in development/enhancement of ETL packages/processes using tools like Fivetran/DBT, custom reports using Google Big Query, and dashboards using BI dashboard tools such as Sisense,Power BI, or Tableau is preferred.
• Knowledge in developing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Experience working with data and platforms related to Sales, Operations, and Finance is preferred.
• JSON/XML knowledge is required.
• Experience with Big Query, PostgreSQL, and Fivetran/DBT is preferred.
• Experience with the legal/court system is preferred.
• Experience with background screening is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required. Relevant business management systems such as general ledger, HRIS, CRM, etc. is preferred.
• Education:
  
  Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or in a related engineering field is required.
• Certifications or licensure:
  Any industry certifications in the field of technology preferred. If you do any work-related driving while at Asurint, a driver's license and ability to maintain a driving record that is satisfactory to the company’s liability insurance carrier is required.
