Position:
Conflicts Counsel – Cleveland office (hybrid, WFH flexibility).
We seek a licensed attorney with conflicts analysis experience who can conduct research, problem‑solve, and provide best‑practice recommendations in the corporate and transactional realms.
Essential Functions- Conduct conflict checks on new client matters, staff hires, and law‑firm acquisitions.
- Manage firm‑wide conflicts clearance for new clients and lateral attorneys.
- Consult with General Counsel, Risk Management, Conflicts Intake Manager, and other stakeholders on conflict results and recommendations.
- Draft, review, and provide waiver and engagement letter exemplars.
- Oversee the Outside Counsel Guideline process and review for potential issues.
- Research ethical issues and advise on best‑practice recommendations.
- Assist in creating and updating policies and procedures regarding matter maintenance, closings, and lateral arrivals/departures.
- Train secretarial and administrative staff on the conflicts/intake workflow application.
- Track trends in conflicts of interest management.
- Participate in other projects and tasks as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsJ.D., 2+ years of conflicts analysis in a large law firm. Experience with corporate/transactional matters is a plus. Proficiency with Intapp or similar conflict‑check software. Comprehensive knowledge of ethical, legal, and risk‑management rules. Strong written and oral communication skills.
Compensation$99,000 – $131,000 per year plus discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.
