Government Investigations and White Collar Associate
Join Squire Patton Boggs as a Government Investigations and White Collar Associate and support partner-level litigators in global compliance, government and internal investigations, white‑collar criminal defense, and complex civil litigation. The position can be based in any U.S. office.
Responsibilities- Conduct legal and factual research
- Analyze documents and complex financial transactions
- Draft motions, legal memoranda, investigation reports, and correspondence
- Interview witnesses
- Manage discovery and other case responsibilities
- Work with consultants and experts
- Possess a JD from an accredited law school and a strong academic record.
- Admitted to a U.S. State Bar and in good standing. Admission to the bar in the primary office state is expected if not currently admitted.
- Experience working in a law firm or government agency with compliance and white‑collar investigations involving anti‑money laundering, economic sanctions, fraud, securities violations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, False Claims Act, or comparable areas of criminal law is preferred.
- 2 – 5 years of relevant experience in compliance, complex government and internal investigations, white‑collar criminal defense, and related civil litigation, including research, writing, witness interviews, and case management.
- Experience/knowledge of criminal procedure.
- Excellent organizational, reasoning, and research skills; strong written and verbal communication; mature judgment; attention to detail; initiative.
- Ability to prioritize and handle urgent tasks, remain composed under stress, and uphold ethical and confidentiality requirements; strong client service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, proactively managing workload and proposing project improvements.
- Background in business banking, finance, economics, accounting, or a foreign language is a plus.
