Position: CWRU Director of Employee Engagement (job#14064)

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Director of Employee Engagement will play a pivotal role in enhancing the work experience for faculty and staff at Case Western Reserve University. This position focuses on developing strategies to improve employee satisfaction, productivity, and retention. The Director will lead initiatives that foster a positive organizational culture.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Employee Engagement Strategy:
    Develop and implement comprehensive employee engagement strategies that align with the university mission and goals. Assess and analyze complex challenges and communicate timely, actionable solutions to stakeholders. Analyze employee engagement data from the Gallup survey to identify trends and areas of opportunity. (25%)
  • Program Development:
    Create and manage programs that promote a positive work environment and enhance faculty and staff satisfaction. Design and launch initiatives that promote a vibrant, and collaborative work environment across departments. (20%)
  • Leadership and Management:
    Lead a team dedicated to employee engagement, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental objectives. Collaborate with department heads to integrate engagement strategies into their operations. (15%)
  • Leadership Development and Mentoring:
    Facilitate outreach and communication across cohorts, ensuring timely delivery of materials and updates. Conduct surveys and feedback loops to refine programming and increase visibility of engagement efforts. Lead committee meetings for both external and internal stakeholders, that is (selected cohorts) for a 9- month module. Provost partnership for faculty; HR Partnership for staff;
    Student Affairs Partnership for students (15%)
  • Performance Measurement:
    Develop metrics to assess the effectiveness of engagement initiatives and use data-driven insights to refine strategies. Prepare reports for senior leadership on employee engagement outcomes and recommendations. (10%)
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provide backup support to the supervisor in overseeing daily operations and staff coordination within the department. Serve as a point of contact for routine guidance, task delegation, and issue resolution in the supervisor's absence or as needed. Directly supervise student workers, ensuring clarity of assignments, adherence to university policies, and timely completion of responsibilities. Monitor performance, provide feedback, and support a positive and productive work environment for student staff.

  • Develop engagement strategies that align with university goals and employee experience priorities. Design event formats and content to maximize internal and external participation and impact. (5%)
  • Represent the university at community events and outreach initiatives, serving as a visible ambassador for its mission, values, and employee engagement priorities. Proactively identify and participate in external opportunities that strengthen institutional partnerships and promote university visibility. (5%)
