The Vice President of Crisis Services provides strategic and operational leadership for the comprehensive continuum of crisis services at the new Comprehensive Behavioral Health Center, which will open in September 2026. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Behavioral Health Urgent Care Centers (BHUC), the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), Crisis Receiving Center, and crisis management strategies, ensuring prompt intervention for individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Leadership and Program Development
  • Develop and execute the organization’s crisis services vision in alignment with strategic and operational goals
  • Collaborate with the Chair of Psychiatry, CEO, and senior leadership to ensure sustainable clinical and financial performance
  • Lead the development and integration of performance measures for agency program evaluation and quality assurance activities
  • Drive innovation in crisis care delivery models, including population health management and coordinated community partnerships
  • Regularly evaluate crisis management programs and identify areas for improvement, implementing changes to enhance effectiveness
Operational Management
  • Develop and guide multidisciplinary teams that operate 24/7, providing immediate support and assessment to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises
  • Oversee operations of Behavioral Health Urgent Care Centers (BHUC), Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), Residential Treatment, and Crisis Receiving Center
  • Develop and implement protocols for handling various types of behavioral health crises, ensuring staff are trained and equipped to respond effectively
  • Ensure daily direction and evaluation of employees and participate in hiring, employee counseling, and terminations alongside HR and Executive Leadership
Clinical Excellence and Quality Assurance
  • Provide clinical supervision and coordination of crisis programs, ensuring all professional, clinical, and ethical standards are adhered to
  • Create and maintain a wellness and recovery-oriented environment across Crisis Services using person-centered planning, language, and documentation
  • Ensure services provided promote wellness and recovery outcomes for individuals in crisis
  • Monitor program outcomes and support quality improvement initiatives
Policy, Compliance, and Reporting
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to behavioral health crisis services
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Prepare and distribute reports and statistical information on crisis management activities
  • Participate in internal and external audits
Collaboration and Community Partnerships
  • Work closely with the Medical Director of Crisis Services and Medical Director of Addiction Services to ensure integrated care delivery
  • Partner with The Centers senior leadership, community leaders, governmental officials, and other agencies to coordinate crisis services
  • Facilitate seamless care transitions and ensure continuity of care across the behavioral health continuum
Financial Oversight
  • Provide oversight for crisis services budgeting and productivity
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets and read and interpret financial reports
Other Non-Essential Duties
  • Represent the organization at community meetings, collaborative initiatives, and professional conferences
  • Participate in organizational strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to grant writing and program development activities
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Education
  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, nursing, or psychology (required)
License or Certification
  • Independent license with supervision designation required: LISW‑S (Licensed Independent Social Worker – Supervisor), OR LPCC‑S (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor – Supervisor), OR RN (Registered Nurse)
Experience
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience in a non‑profit, health‑related organization
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience
  • Experience building and guiding multiple teams that operate 24/7 (required)
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
