MOR PPM Inc. is looking for plant mechanics in Thompson, Ohio. The Plant Mechanic will function as a skilled technician focused on the constant improvement, fabrication, and repair of manufacturing equipment. Mechanics will practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures, comply with all customer rules and safety procedures and policies, and correctly diagnose, replace or repair parts of equipment using appropriate tooling, equipment, and material.

Duties include inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, fabricating, removing, and replacing components on equipment, and solving problems by studying drawings and technical publications if necessary.

• Responsible for constant improvement, fabrication, and repair of tire manufacturing equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems using technical documentation and tools.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding maintenance activities.

• Ability to use the English language to communicate both verbally and in writing accurately and concisely on technical matters to external and internal customers.
• Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Hold a valid Driver’s License.
• Experience in industrial maintenance work.
• Ability to work independently.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic electrical skills.
• Have a complete set of a mechanic’s tools appropriate for maintenance and repair (company will provide access to specialized tools).
• Demonstrate proficiency in all the above areas.

• 3+ years of PM and industrial or commercial experience.
• Technical school training or degree is a plus.
• Welding experience is a plus.

• Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through Docu Sign.
• May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above.
• Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
• Must have full range of motion consistent with age.
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders.
• Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms, and other job-related noises.
• Visual acuity, depth perception, and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces.
• Safety/steel toe shoes are required.
