CNC Machinist's Lathe

Reports to:

Manufacturing Supervisor

• Review job package, including routing, blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to fully understand process plan, part configuration, material, tooling, and equipment.
• Build a documented plan using knowledge of proper setup procedures, machining practices, material properties, and tooling for lathes, milling machines, and grinders (CNC and conventional).
• Operate production equipment utilizing machining practices and safe operation techniques to produce components that meet customer needs.
• Verify conformance of workpiece to specifications using appropriate measuring instruments.
• Evaluate deviations identified in the machining process to determine cause and initiate corrective action if appropriate; report deviations via Process Discrepancy Report (PDR).
• Train less experienced machinists in advanced machining techniques to develop higher technical competence.
• Maintain a professional and personable relationship with superiors, peers, and subordinates.
• Perform other duties or functions as requested by supervisor or authorized personnel.

We seek machine shop professionals with experience in both lathe setup and operation, in both conventional and CNC environments. Candidates should have long‑term employment intent and experience with CNC lathe setup rates. The role is for a stable, steady, large aerospace & commercial machine shop with immediate openings for night shift Monday through Thursday, 6 PM to 4 AM. Permanent jobs with benefits start a month after the start.
