Title: CNC Setup/Programmer

Shift: Monday - Friday

  • 1st Shift (6am – 2pm)
  • 2nd Shift (2pm – 10pm)
  • 3rd Shift (10pm – 6am)

Salary: $27.00 - $36.00 per hour, dependent on experience

CNC Setup/Programmer Role:

The CNC Setup/Programmer is responsible for the end-to-end preparation and operation of CNC machinery to support our client's growing manufacturing demands. This role exists to ensure production efficiency by creating new programs, performing complex setups, and troubleshooting technical issues that exceed standard operator capabilities.

CNC Setup/Programmer Responsibilities:
  • Write new CNC programs using long-hand methods
  • Perform complete setups on CNC machines for various production runs
  • Diagnose and repair machine malfunctions and assist operators with technical troubleshooting
  • Operate and maintain CNC equipment to meet production schedules
  • Inspect finished parts using manual gages and micrometers to ensure compliance with print specifications
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment including floor maintenance
  • Complete all required production and quality paperwork accurately
  • Collaborate with office personnel and supporting departments to streamline workflows
CNC Setup/Programmer Reporting Relationships:

The candidate will report to the Shop Supervisor and will not have any direct reports.

About You:
  • Possess 5+ years of CNC setup experience and 2+ years of programming experience
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform long-hand programming directly from blueprints
  • Understand speeds and feeds across various tooling and materials
  • Read blueprints and utilize non-digital micrometers for precision measurement
  • Apply mathematical concepts including geometry and trigonometry to machining tasks
  • Maintain high attention to detail to meet strict print specifications
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and move routinely throughout the shop floor
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and a cooperative team-player attitude
