Freeman Enclosure Systems is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to join our manufacturing team in Batavia, Ohio.
The Industrial Painter is responsible for preparing metal surfaces and applying paint and protective coatings to large equipment, panels, and enclosure components. This position requires experience with surface preparation, spray painting, compressed air equipment, spray guns, pressure pots, and related painting equipment
.
The ideal candidate will take pride in producing high-quality work, pay strong attention to detail, understand proper paint and solvent handling procedures, and be committed to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
This position requires the ability to work independently while also working effectively with the production team to meet quality and production goals.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, grinding, and priming as required.
- Ensure surfaces are properly prepared and free of dirt, oil, grease, rust, dust, and other contaminants before painting.
- Apply paint and protective coatings to large equipment, metal panels, and enclosure components.
- Operate spray guns, pressure pots, compressed air systems, and other painting equipment
. - Apply paint evenly while preventing runs, streaks, drips, overspray, and other defects.
- Inspect painted surfaces to ensure they meet company quality standards and specifications.
- Mix and handle paints, solvents, primers, and other coating materials according to established procedures.
