POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Communications and Events Manager will play a vital role at the Schubert Center for Child Studies, responsible for assisting the Director with overseeing events and communications. This position involves managing day-to-day social media, website content, and marketing materials, in collaboration with center staff, to design and implement programs that align with the center's mission and strategic priorities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvide marketing and communication support to and assist the administrative director in enhancing the Center's local and national profile through effective marketing and communication strategies. Manage the center's webpage and social media platforms, ensuring compliance with branding and university standards in collaboration with the University Marketing and Communication Office. Analyze social media metrics for each channel and develop monthly monitoring reports to assess engagement, reach and other key factors;
refine strategies. Set and implement goals aligned with the center's strategic plan for social media, print, and web-based communications. Contribute to writing, editing, and coordinating strategic print and web-based communications, including publications such as the annual report. Develop themes and assist in production-related decisions regarding marketing materials and content. (40%)
Manage event programming by assisting the administrative director in executing the center's event programming to advance its mission. Identify content for events and support the planning, staffing, and management processes. Prepare budgets, coordinate vendors and contracts, audience identification, communications, promotion, and logistics (e.g., venue booking, catering, parking, audio/visual, and rentals). Conduct benchmarking and research to support the evaluation of existing events and the development of new ones as part of the overall event strategy.
Maintain data-driven evaluation systems to monitor event success and contribute to strategic recommendations. Coordinate with community and university partners and co-sponsors to support event and program implementation. Assist in designing and distributing marketing materials via email, mail, social media, and other channels to increase attendance and engagement. Collaborate with center staff to support the development of event-specific messaging, identify target audiences, and determine timing and methods for content distribution.

Provide funding and grant writing. Help the Center's goals to secure additional funding. Assist with grant-writing activities by supporting the development of proposals and funding applications. Collaborate with internal staff and central administration to help identify potential funding sources. Contribute to writing and editing proposal content and assist in preparing application materials.
