Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland is seeking mission driven candidates to join our Disability Service's team as a Part-Time Activity Leader. In this role you will provide supervision and support for participants with developmental disabilities, while leading engaging activities, which allow for meaningful social relationships and individual development. We are hiring for programs that are held year-round and include our Saturday Program and other Community and Ministry Events.
Hours are on Saturdays, evenings and may include some during the week.
Pay Range - $15.79 - $20.32
Program Statement
Disability Services & Ministries only see abilities when working with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide a variety of community-based programs and parish-based ministries for persons of all ages and abilities.

Basic Function: Under direction, provide supervision and support for participants with developmental disabilities, while leading engaging activities, which allow for meaningful social relationships and individual development. Hours are on Saturdays, evenings and may include some during the week.
Responsibilities:
- Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.
- Assume direct responsibility and supervision for participants throughout the program. *
- Develop and lead activities for participants based on the participants’ needs as determined by Individual Service Plans (ISP), observation, assessment, and feedback. *
- Facilitate activities that promote personal and spiritual development, wellness and engagement.
- Keep accurate records including attendance, Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) documentation, incident and progress reports.
- Assist in planning special events, which include celebrations and community outings for participants and their families/caregivers.
- Collaborate with community and parish partners to create inclusive programing and facilitate awareness.
- Communicate with participant, parent/guardian, and caregivers regarding important program information and participant involvement/progress, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Attend all staff meetings and complete all required Catholic Charities and external trainings, when requested. *
- Ensure that all local, state, and federal guidelines, including DODD regulations, are being met. *
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of program space, equipment, and materials to ensure safety and accessibility.
- Respond to other needs or projects as identified and/or assigned, relative to programmatic needs.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Normal office environment.
- Frequent talking, listening/hearing with clients, staff.
- Reading, writing, eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity to manage correspondence, faxing, copying, answering phones, forms/documents, assessments, teaching/modeling, demonstrating activities, computer and client files required on a frequent basis.
- Frequent standing, sitting and walking for performing computer-based tasks at desk, out in the community and during programming.
- Must be able to frequently lift/carry up to 60 lbs. unassisted for teaching/modeling, at program and out in the community.
