RN, Trauma Neuro Progressive Care Unit, 3W. Summa Health System, Akron Campus. Full Time, 36 Hours/Week, 7a-7:30p. Every Other Weekend/Holiday.

Primary Patient Population:
This Unit specializes in the care of patients with cognitive and neurological conditions and post-trauma or stroke recovery needs. Unit Size: 17 bed unit. Target Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5 (subject to change based on census numbers and patient care needs).

• Eligible for the Frontline Force Hire On Incentive - up to $25,000 for experienced nurses and $15,000 for new grad nurses.
• $5/hour shift differential for nights; $1/hour for weekends.
• 12-month nurse residency program for new grads.

Guided by knowledge of the basic principles of nursing based on the biological, physical, and psycho-social sciences, utilizes judgment supported by evidence and nursing theory in the delivery of nursing care. Provides, coordinates and/or delegates nursing care and manages resources in the delivery of care for patients, the family of patients and the community, with the goal of attaining, maintaining and restoring optimum health.

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Applicants with an Associate’s degree will be considered but are required to obtain BSN within three (3) years of employment
• Graduate of a program of professional nursing that is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
• Current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio

• PRN RN’s must have at least one-year recent experience in the area of practice.
• One year of related RN experience is required for weekend option positions.
• Additional related previous experience and/or preparation may be required for specialty units.

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
• Requires exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other potentially hazardous conditions common to a clinical environment.
• Maintains current Basic Life Support certification; ACLS may be required within specified time frames depending on role.

• Additional education or certifications may be required for specialty areas (e.g., PALS, NIH, Non-Violet Crisis Intervention).

Salary: $33.75/hr - $53.00/hr the salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location, are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. The range listed is the full base salary range; hiring at the maximum is not typical.
