Retirement

Pathfinder is a 401K with 3 plan choices:

  • Standard: 4.5% we put in 6%
  • High: 7% we put in 7%
  • Customized – You have the opportunity to put in any amount over 4.5% or 7%. We put in 6% for anything less than 7% and 7% for anything above 7%.

You vest 20% each year. 1 year – 20% vested, 2 years – 40% vested, 3 years – 60% vested, 4 years – 80% vested, 5 years – 100% vested.

Longevity Bonus
  • Longevity begins after 2 years. First payment in pay period of 2nd anniversary.
  • Longevity increases every 2 years: $250.00, $426.00, $626.00, $850.00, $1,062.00, $1,250.00, $1,500.00, $1,688.00, $1,900.00, $2,000.00.
  • For each additional 2 years after 20 years, add $200.
Paid Time Off

Annual leave: 1‑5 years – 15 days, 5‑10 years – 18 days, 10‑20 years – 20 days, 20+ years – 25 days. Sick leave: 15 days. Max accruals and payouts vary by years of service. Holiday leave: 11 holidays per year.

Admin Weather Leave

Essential personnel accrue up to 8 hours per day or 32 hours total during inclement weather, use within 6 months.

Military Leave

Limited to 30 days (240 hours) federal fiscal year. Requires military orders.

Basic Purpose

Positions in this job family perform tasks involving laundry work, sewing, alterations, and mending at a state institution, school, or facility. This includes sorting, washing, and maintaining clothing, linens, and draperies.

Typical Functions
  • Operate washers, dryers, mangles, pressers, and irons.
  • Sew by hand or machine, mend, alter, and repair clothing and linen articles; construct, maintain, and hang draperies.
  • Place clothes on hangers, wrap bundles in paper with identifying tickets, and prepare for delivery.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance and repair; clean and oil machines; maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Maintain adequate level of sewing materials, clothing, and linens for an assigned area; collect, weigh, and count laundry.
Level Descriptor

This career level assigns employees responsibility for a full range of duties involving laundry and sewing activities, including preparing solutions, making patterns, cutting material to patterns, measuring, fitting clothing to patients or residents, maintaining simple records, and making reports. Some positions may have occasional functional supervision of a section of laundry or sewing services.

Education and Experience

Six months of experience in a commercial or institutional laundry, or commercial experience in the operation of a sewing machine, pattern making, or mending garments.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies

Knowledge of sewing techniques; simple pattern making and textiles. Ability to operate sewing machines, fit and alter clothing, operate various laundry equipment, follow written and oral instructions, establish effective working relationships, follow sewing patterns, and communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
