Description
The Cleveland Medical Center Adult PACUs are split into two areas:
Mather PACU (31 beds) and MOSC PACU (24 beds). The PACU has three phases that patients go through: 1. Pre-op where they are prepped for surgery, 2. PACU where they receive post‑op care after surgery, 3. Discharge – preparing patients for home
4. Extended care – patients that are floor ready.
- ENT, neurosurgery, orthopedic, GI, GYN, GU, vascular, plastics, oral surgery, ophthalmology, etc.
- High acuity patients
- Patients on mild vasoactive drips and/or intubated patients
- ICU overflow
- Academic/Teaching Hospital
- Nurse focused
- Supportive & education focused culture

- Nurse Residency Program to assist in Transition To Practice
