- Serve guests food and beverages within a high-volume, fast-paced, and often loud restaurant setting.
- Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through your work area during shift.
- Follow House of Blues safety, health, and sanitation standards; assist other employees as needed.
- Follow opening and closing procedures, and check out with the manager on duty.
- Adhere to all House of Blues policies and procedures; ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance and policies.
- Request proper identification for anyone appearing under 30 years of age; recognize when guests are becoming too intoxicated and refuse further service in a courteous, safety-minded manner; notify a manager as needed.
- Handle cash, bank procedures, and POS transactions for cash or credit payments.
- Occasionally work at special events scheduled within the venue.
- Interact with guests in a natural, friendly demeanor to cultivate repeat business; suggestively sell menu items.
- Take and deliver food and beverage orders promptly; prioritize and organize drink orders.
- Consistently prepare beverages according to standard recipes and venue specifications; adhere to control systems.
- Work authorization in the U.S. without employer sponsorship requirement.
- Attention to detail; positive attitude; teamwork; ability to work in a high-volume and sometimes stressful environment.
- Clean, well-groomed appearance; punctual with flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
- Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms.
- Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent (paid training provided).
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and with recognizing valid IDs.
- Cash handling experience; knowledge of beer, wine & liquor; current drink trends.
- Point of Sales knowledge, preferably MICROS.
- Willing to commute to downtown area with parking available.
- Fast-paced, can be hot and loud; extended periods of standing.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques.
