Are you an Electrical Engineer or technically-minded sales professional who enjoys being out in front of customers? We’re hiring an Outside Sales Engineer to represent industry-leading Vertiv products — with a focus on power/energy and thermal management solutions — critical to keeping data centers and sensitive infrastructure running efficiently and cool.
As a manufacturer’s representative, our team delivers high-quality solutions and personalized support to end users, electrical contractors, and consulting engineers. You’ll be expected to travel within your designated territory to build strong relationships, assess customer needs, and provide product expertise that drives results.
What You’ll Do:
- Represent a portfolio of Vertiv products focused on power and thermal management
- Regularly visit customers (end users, contractors, engineers) across your territory to provide technical guidance and develop trusted relationships
- Conduct product demonstrations and offer customized solutions based on system requirements
- Collaborate with inside sales and support teams on project quotes and equipment selection
- Attend trade shows and industry events to identify opportunities and stay ahead of trends
- Accurately document project details and client interactions using Salesforce
- Act as a knowledgeable and proactive point of contact throughout the sales lifecycle
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in technical sales, ideally within the data center or HVAC/power management industry
- Solid understanding of electrical or mechanical systems related to power and cooling
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with a customer-first mindset and desire to be in the field
- Mileage and expenses fully covered for travel within the assigned territory
- Travel expectation: frequent face-to-face customer visits (up to 10%)
- Must be comfortable with lifting up to 25 lbs and walking uneven surfaces during site visits
- Blend of fieldwork, remote collaboration, and trade show participation
