Security Supervisor (Floater)

Cleveland Museum of Art is seeking a Security Supervisor who supervises and coordinates the activities of all on‑duty Gallery Guards and Night Watch Persons. The candidate will monitor all protection services and environmental systems, report unsafe conditions, and oversee the protection and security of the facility, collection, staff, and visitors.

Primary shift is 1st shift, but the role requires occasional coverage on 2nd and 3rd shift.

• Perform all control room operations, including monitoring cameras, alarms, and fire systems; maintain an up‑to‑date log of activities and report any incidents that require Protection Services support.
• Supervise Gallery Guards and Night Watch Persons, ensuring compliance with work rules, job performance, policies, and procedures.
• Adequate coverage of personnel within building zones, schedule lunches and breaks, distribute schedules and assignments to security officers.
• Participate in protection services opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with roll call when needed.
• Fill in as necessary to maintain proper security management levels.
• Respond to requests from the on‑duty Security Management Team to direct activities during unusual occurrences.
• Conduct formal and informal investigations of incidents, accidents, thefts, and museum employee issues.
• Participate in training of subordinates in protective procedures, first aid, fire safety, and related matters.
• Assume gallery or post duties as needed for lunch/break reliefs.
• Prepare and submit reports concerning incidents, accidents, thefts, or other security‑related events; document findings and provide incident reports to Security Operations.

$50,000 per year. Full‑time, 40 hours per week with occasional overtime.
