Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer – Utilities Access Control in Cleveland, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will monitor entry points and patrol designated areas to help maintain a secure environment. Your presence will help to deter security‑related incidents while providing outstanding customer service and clear communication to everyone onsite.
You will play a key role in fostering a positive atmosphere that aligns with our values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity, all while prioritizing people and adapting to dynamic situations.

- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site‑specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
- Carry out access control procedures based on site‑specific policies for utilities locations, verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points.
- Assist with security‑related customer service needs by providing information and guidance to employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols.
- Perform regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
- Monitor security‑related systems such as cameras and alarms to support site security procedures.
- Document observations, incidents, and/or irregularities in reports according to company and client policies.
- Communicate with Allied Universal management, site supervisors, and local authorities as needed regarding security‑related concerns or emergencies.
- Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuation or lockdown procedures when appropriate.
- Availability across various days and shifts

- A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
- Interest in transitioning into full‑time roles when available
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
