Field Service & Calibration Technician – 1st Shift

Job Type: Full-Time – Exempt

Travel Required:

40–80% (approximately 2–4 days per week, primarily domestic)

We are seeking an experienced, mechanically inclined Field Service & Calibration Technician to join our team! This position is responsible for installing, calibrating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing specialized industrial testing equipment at customer facilities throughout the United States, with occasional international travel. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting background, hands-on calibration experience, and excellent customer service skills.

This role combines field service, technical support, and preventative maintenance.

• Travel to customer facilities to perform equipment calibrations, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues.
• Perform equipment calibrations using certified reference standards and maintain accurate documentation.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, relays, contractors, gauges, and other equipment components.
• Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to customers remotely.
• Perform equipment startups and train customers on proper operation and maintenance.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Prepare service reports, calibration certificates, and repair documentation.
• Coordinate customer service appointments, travel arrangements, and maintenance schedules.
• Work with engineering and internal teams to resolve complex equipment issues.
• Ensure equipment meets safety, quality, and calibration standards.

• Minimum 3 years of calibration technician experience required.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Experience with industrial equipment maintenance, calibration, and preventative maintenance.
• Knowledge of A2LA / ISO 17025 calibration procedures.
• Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple service assignments.
• Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• Familiarity with ASTM standards is a plus.
• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and valid U.S. passport required.

• Must be willing to travel 40–80% of the time (2–4 days per week), primarily throughout the United States.
• Occasional international travel may be required.
• Travel includes flying and driving a company-provided vehicle.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in industrial and manufacturing environments.
