Software Engineer, Full Stack Developer
Job Description
The Senior Application Developer, Full Stack role will be responsible for the broader process of developing and deploying enhancements and/or new applications used in local, networked, cloud-based or internet-related computer programs. They will use their technical expertise in programming languages, tools, and delivery models, in conjunction with their methodology expertise to collaborate with various stakeholders and ensure the timely delivery of high‑quality products and solutions.
This role requires a foundational understanding of programming languages, tools, and delivery models, as well as the ability to effectively communicate technical solutions to non‑technical stakeholders. The incumbent will work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including project teams, business analysts, and end‑users, to ensure the development process is running smoothly. Ultimately, the incumbent will play a vital role in ensuring the organization’s software applications are effective, efficient, and provide a seamless experience for the end‑users.
- Analyze system requirements and translate them into software programming specifications
- Develop, code, integrate, test, and debug software applications using current programming languages
- Create documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance of software
- Collaborate and communicate closely with various stakeholders such as users, developers, and project managers to ensure timely delivery of products and solutions
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and programming languages to ensure the team's skills and expertise are current
Education
- Required:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology (e.g., Computer Science, Technology Management, Software Engineering, Application Development, Web Development and Design, etc.) or, in lieu of a degree, at least 7 years of experience in application development or application engineering.
Knowledge & Experience
- 4+ years of experience in software development, specifically in application development engineering
- Experience in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or Ruby
- Familiarity with software development tools such as Git or Jenkins
Preferred
- 2+ years of application development subject matter expertise within the IBM Sterling Order Management (OMS) Version 9 or 10 platform
- Experience with MACH architecture and microservice development using SOAP/RESTful web services
- Experience working in an Agile development delivery team, including work estimation, defining acceptance criteria for stories, and backlog management
