For this contractor assignment, they will primarily work on various projects for two Agency Quoting applications. These are complex applications built internally, one of which has UI and one does not. This contractor would work on a variety of projects mostly related to these two applications.

For this contractor assignment, they will primarily work on various projects for two Agency Quoting applications. These are complex applications built internally, one of which has UI and one does not. This contractor would work on a variety of projects mostly related to these two applications.

Lead the design, development, and delivery of enhancements to Agency Quoting and Vendor Quoting platforms. Partner with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, quality engineers, and other development teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that improve the agency quoting experience and drive business value. Provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on with software development activities working with a variety of technologies supporting web and backend systems.

• Lead technical design discussions and solution architecture reviews.
• Break down complex business requirements into technical solutions.
• Review code and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Provide guidance on application design, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Identify technical debt and modernization opportunities.
• Leverage AI tools in daily work (Copilot, Codex, Claude, etc.)

• Develop and enhance Agency Quoting and Vendor Quoting applications.
• Create and modify APIs, business services, and user interface components.
• Debug production issues and implement corrective solutions.
• Participate in application modernization efforts.
• Perform technical research and proofs of concept.

• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily standups.
• Estimate development effort and identify technical risks.
• Collaborate with BSAs, Product teams, and business partners on requirements.
• Track progress against delivery commitments.
• Support release planning and production deployments.

• Ensure solutions meet quality, security, and performance standards.
• Participate in test strategy reviews with QA partners.
• Analyze defects and drive root-cause resolution.
• Support production monitoring and partner with operations teams on service reliability improvements.

• Work directly with Agency Distribution business partners to understand quoting needs.
• Consult on technical solutions to business problems.
• Communicate solution options, tradeoffs, and project status to stakeholders.

• Minimum of 9 years related work experience programming and supporting software applications.
• {OR} Completion of a technical training program and a minimum of 6 years related work experience programming and supporting software applications.
• {OR} Bachelor's degree or higher in an Information Technology or related field of study (e.g. Engineering, Math, Science) and a minimum of 6 years related work experience programming and supporting software applications.
