Overview
Canterbury Golf Club is a classical golf course located in one of Cleveland's most scenic suburbs. The facility consists of an 18 hole golf course of exceptional design originally created by Herbert Strong, acclaimed golf course architect and founding member of the PGA of America. Canterbury also has a clubhouse and restaurant, as well as a driving range facility, short game area, swimming pool, tennis courts, and paddle courts.
For 100 years, Canterbury has aimed to create an excellent experience for members and their guests.
Canterbury Golf Club has been nationally recognized as one of the top 100 golf courses in the U.S. and one of the finest in Ohio. The traditional Scottish course was expertly constructed to embrace the area's natural topography resulting in a demanding course with a great variation of holes. Founded in 1921, it has a rich history of major golf championships including the US Open, PGA Championship, Senior Open, US Amateur Championship, and Senior PGA Championship.
Canterbury is only the second club in the country to have hosted all five of the major golf championships that are played throughout the country. In the Fall of 2016, the course underwent a full renovation, staying true to Strong's original design, helping Canterbury to be named as the host site for 3 upcoming USGA events over the next 16 years.
Responsibilities
Canterbury Golf Club is seeking an Assistant Golf Professional where the start and end dates can be flexible and determined by the candidate's experience and goals. This position will be hands-on in all areas of the operation, including working closely with Canterbury's Men's Events, Women's groups, all outside outings, and adult and junior instruction. The willingness to go above and beyond, team-first attitude, willingness to learn, being on time, and regular practice and play with members are all expected.
The Professional should be dedicated to providing an exceptional golf experience to all members and guests.
