We are seeking a Bus Driver to add to our growing team at a Gold Rated (SUTQ), NAC-Accredited childcare and preschool center located at 7115 Woodland Ave, Cleveland, OH 44104.

In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting children (5 years of age - 12 years of age) to and from the childcare center to assigned local schools and field trips. The Bus Driver ensures that the bus is regularly maintained, refueled, visually checked for safety, and stays on schedule in a safe manner. The driver must be able to enter and exit the vehicle without assistance and withstand exposure to adverse weather conditions.

• Driving a 14-passenger school bus and/or 6-passenger minivan (No CDL required).
• Possessing previous driving experience and comfort with groups of children (5-12 years of age).
• Always wearing a seat belt assembly while driving and maintaining appropriate safety management.
• Ensuring that all passengers wear seat belts.
• Ensuring each child's safety by maintaining vehicle functionality and implementing safety procedures with the center Director.
• Complying with ODJFS state licensing guidelines and requirements regarding transportation.
• Assisting in documentation for attendance and transportation services provided.
• Visually observing the health of each child on the bus.
• Ensuring that no child is ever left unattended while on the bus.
• Ensuring that each child is delivered to the care of a responsible adult upon leaving the bus.
• Conducting bus inspections, maintaining scheduled bus/van maintenance, and daily bus cleaning.
• Transporting the bus for servicing to mechanics and for routine oil changes, state inspections and necessary repairs.
• Being responsible for the morning (7:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.) and afternoon (2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.) bus runs Monday through Friday.

• Previous driving experience and comfort working with groups of children (5-12 years of age).
• At least a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Current physical health and ability to pass a BCI/FBI background check.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Comfortable driving a 14-passenger bus.
• Experience driving a school bus or similar vehicle preferred.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to transporting children.
• Seasonal requirements include field trips and some supervision support.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers and support staff.
• Reliable, compassionate, and capable of creating a warm, nurturing, and responsive environment for children and families.
• Dependable with a good work record regarding punctuality and daily attendance.
• Tdap and MMR vaccination.
• TB screening.

• Ability to lift and/or move a child weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a moderate to noisy environment.
• Ability to assist children in an emergency situation.
• Withstand outdoor temperatures and conditions for extended periods during all seasons.
