  • Direct daily workflows, assigning loading, bulk-pulling, staging, unloading, and dock cleanup tasks.
  • Prioritize crew work based on route departure times and active dispatch requirements.
  • Monitor performance, productivity, loading accuracy, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Provide real-time corrections on loading standards and jump in to assist with physical loading as needed.

  • Uphold and embody the company's Core Values:
Consistency, Adaptability, Reliability, and Teamwork (CART).
  • Merchandise Quality & Order Accuracy
    • Inspect all inventory for cleanliness, damage, and completeness before loading, routing rejected items to maintenance or prep.
    • Verify physical product counts against load sheets, contracts, and shipping documentation.
    • Investigate order discrepancies and ensure additions, removals, or substitutions are properly logged.

    • Communicate shortages, damages, or missing inventory directly to Inventory and Dispatch.
  • Bulk Pulling, Staging & Load Readiness
    • Pull bulk inventory and stage items in strict alignment with route priority and loading sequence.
    • Inspect completed skids to verify they are properly wrapped, labeled, stacked, and balanced.
    • Enforce vehicle load securement protocols (strapping, load bars) and confirm required delivery gear (pallet jacks, hand trucks, ramps) is loaded.
    • Prevent returned inventory from cluttering active bays or mixing with outbound orders.
    • Conduct a final load-readiness inspection before releasing any truck.
  • Shipping, Receiving & Dock Management
    • Oversee loading and unloading for both internal fleet vehicles and external freight carriers.
    • Document all inbound/outbound shortages, overages, and transit damages immediately.
    • Direct door usage and staging space to maintain flow and avoid congestion.
    • Ensure returned items are routed promptly to proper cleaning, repair, or inventory bays.
  • Serve as the primary after-hours escalation point for driver, route, equipment, or vehicle concerns.
  • Handle calls regarding breakdowns, accidents, delays, missing gear, or site access issues, coordinating with vendors, roadside aid, or management.
  • Ensure assigned trucks are fueled, clean of trash, parked correctly, and stocked with necessary keys, fuel cards, and paperwork.
  • Make operational calls within designated authority to protect client delivery schedules and driver safety.
  • Vehicle Inspections & Maintenance Coordination
    • Inspect trucks for visible damage, warning lights, fluid leaks, tire issues, and mechanical defects before release.
    • Red-tag and hold any vehicle with unaddressed safety concerns, notifying Dispatch immediately.
    • Move trucks to/from approved service providers, tracking out-of-service vehicles and managing keys and repair logs.
  • Keep dock doors, staging areas, and emergency exits clean and free of trip hazards (shrink wrap, straps, broken pallets).
  • Enforce safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, dock plates, and required PPE.
  • Complete an end-of-shift dock inspection and provide a detailed handoff report to day management and Dispatch covering completed loads, outstanding orders, product shortages, vehicle service updates, and driver incidents.
