CDL Class B Truck Driver

Chieftain Trucking & Excavating is a heavy civil contractor based in Northeast Ohio, specializing in site development, underground utilities, earthwork, and excavation services. Our projects include water and sewer utilities, storm drainage, grading, and large-scale earthmoving for both public and private sectors.

This is a full-time, on-site CDL Class B Truck Driver position based in Cleveland, OH. You will operate commercial vehicles to safely and efficiently transport materials to and from local job sites.

This is a local driving position with no overnight travel. Drivers are home every night and are not required to stay out of town or travel long distances for extended periods.

Duties include conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring the safe loading and unloading of materials, and following all DOT, company, and job site safety regulations. Drivers work closely with our field crews to keep projects running efficiently and may perform minor vehicle maintenance as needed.

• Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
• Experience operating commercial trucks, including dump trucks and other heavy vehicles
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and adherence to safety protocols
• Ability to perform general vehicle inspections and minor maintenance
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with job site teams
• Willingness to work outdoors and adapt to varying weather conditions
• Previous experience in construction, excavation, or trucking is a plus
