Adjunct Faculty Pool - Chemistry

Duties and Responsibilities- Planning and teaching classes as assigned, following course descriptions, syllabi and departmental guidelines.
- Beginning and ending all classes on schedule, covering all relevant learning outcomes.
- Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior; communicating with students weekly and responding to emails promptly.
- Evaluating students using a variety of methods and promptly informing each student of scores received on each assessment.
- Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.
- Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.
- Submitting requests through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.
A Master’s degree in Chemistry from a regionally accredited institution or Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Chemistry. Teaching and industry experience preferred.

Future teaching assignments are on a term‑by‑term basis, which may include fall, spring and summer.
