ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER K-5 QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Tennessee teacher’s license with appropriate endorsement
Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills
Meets health and physical requirements

Building Level Principal
JOB GOAL
To teach elementary school children academic and social skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepares teaching outline for course of studentLectures, demonstrates, and uses audiovisual teaching aids to present subject matter in classPrepares, administers, and corrects tests and records resultsAssigns lessons and corrects papersMaintains order in classroom and on playgroundCounsels students when adjustment and academic problems ariseDiscusses students’ academic and behavior problems with parents and suggests corrective actionKeeps attendance and grade records as required by school boardObserves students to detect signs of ill health or emotional disturbance and to evaluate progressRepresents the school and the community in a positive mannerReports to the principal when one knows or reasonably suspects that a child’s health or welfare has been or appears to have been harmed as a result of abuse or neglectPerforms other work‑related duties as assigned by the PrincipalPHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 50 lbs., with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:
