Clevelala Utilities Authority, a municipal utility providing electric, water, wastewater, and fiber services to the Cleveland, Tennessee/Bradley County area is seeking a Senior Engineer. This position will be responsible for all aspects of the engineering department, maintaining and expanding a water distribution system and sewage collections system. The role may include design of capital projects at the wastewater treatment plant and water treatment plants.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Assist with Water and Wastewater Engineering Department functions, including but not limited to:
- Development of the Water/Wastewater Engineering Department capital budget.
- Review and approval of water and wastewater facilities for private development.
- Develop plans and specifications for capital projects.
- Assist with Water and Wastewater GIS mapping.
- Inspection of construction of water and wastewater facilities.
- Direct capital project/design and construction management.
- Assist other areas with capital budgeting, management of all capital projects, and use of consultants and other engineering‑related items.
- Assist customers as necessary.
- Develop standards and policies related to the installation of water and wastewater facilities.
- Support water and wastewater operations, as needed.
- Manage outside consultants, including selection, fee negotiations, scheduling, payment, and review/approval of work.
- Knowledge of SRF requirements, including application procedure, disbursement requests, document preparation, and construction procedures.
- Confer with the public, consultants, and contractors concerning projects.
- Other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager of Water and Wastewater.
- Bachelor of Science Degree (four‑year accredited college/university) in Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineering license or ability to acquire one.
- Ten or more years of experience in water and wastewater engineering.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
- A valid Class “D” Tennessee Driver’s License.
- Availability to work after hours when needed and perform call duty.
