Compensation: $150,000-$165,000/Year
Job OverviewOne of Insight Global's clients is looking for a Senior Wastewater Engineer to join their team in Cleveland, TN! You’ll guide capital planning and design, set engineering standards, and ensure projects move from concept to commissioning—safely, compliantly, and on budget.
What you’ll do- Steer department priorities: Support the day‑to‑day direction of Water & Wastewater Engineering activities and help set near‑ and long‑term goals.
- Own capital planning: Build and manage the department’s capital budget; track spend and forecast needs across multiple programs.
- Deliver capital projects: Prepare plans and technical specifications; direct design, bidding, and construction management through closeout.
- Review private development: Evaluate and approve water and wastewater facilities submitted by developers for conformance with standards.
- Advance GIS capabilities: Contribute to water and wastewater GIS mapping to improve asset visibility and decision‑making.
- Oversee field quality: Inspect construction of pipelines, pump/lift stations, and related facilities for safety, quality, and compliance.
- Set the standard: Develop and maintain policies, details, and specifications for installation of water/wastewater infrastructure.
- Cross‑functional support: Partner with other departments on capital budgeting, portfolio management, consultant use, and engineering needs.
- Customer stewardship: Respond to customer inquiries and coordinate timely, accurate resolutions.
- Consultant management: Lead selection, scope and fee negotiations, scheduling, invoice approval, and performance reviews for outside firms.
- Navigate funding programs: Apply working knowledge of State Revolving Fund (SRF) requirements—applications, disbursements, documentation, and construction procedures.
- Collaborate externally: Confer with the public, consultants, and contractors to align project scope, schedule, and expectations.
- And other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager, Water & Wastewater.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering (Master’s a plus).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain in a defined timeframe.
- Familiarity with GIS (e.g., Esri/ArcGIS), plan production, and construction administration.
- Strength in budgeting, scheduling, consultant oversight, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience with distribution/collection systems, treatment plants, and pump/lift stations.
- Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and asset management systems.
