This position is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives and performing assigned tasks, while providing legendary customer service.

As a Team Member, it is essential that you be available, flexible, adaptable and service-oriented, as you must be able to fulfill all of the following requirements:

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends and overtime as dictated by business needs.
• Support selling initiatives (TEAM):
• Thank the Customer
• Engage with the customer and/or pet
• Advise on products or services
• Make it Memorable
• Perform a combination of duties during 95% of your day, including:
• Operate cash register/computer following cash handling procedures
• Recovery of merchandise
• Participate in freight process
• Complete Plan-o-gram procedures
• Assemble merchandise
• Perform janitorial duties
• Execute price changes/markdowns
• Assist customers with loading purchases
• Ensure the safety and well-being of live animals, sanitize tanks, and care for animals as required
• Complete all related documentation

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Experience:

No experience required. Retail and/or pet/live animal knowledge is preferred.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, write, and count accurately is essential.

• Pet/live animal, pet food, pet product knowledge
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer skills
• Interpersonal skills and ethical issue resolution

• Indoor environment with moderate noise
• Hard surface floors; adequate lighting and temperature
• Shifts typically range from 4 to over 8 hours, varying by store
• Adhere to safety guidelines to promote a safe environment

• Non-sedentary role requiring mobility throughout the store and outdoors
• Ability to lift or reach overhead, move, and transfer merchandise up to 50 pounds
• Constant standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing
• Operate store equipment safely and efficiently
• Complete all training and certification requirements
