Shipping and Receiving Associate

Overview
The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for accurately processing all inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining detailed records of products received and shipped. This role involves preparing and packaging goods for shipment, generating shipping labels and documentation, and verifying that all orders are fulfilled correctly. The specialist ensures accuracy by reading and checking packing lists against shipments to confirm proper quantities and items received.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
• Properly package material for shipment to customers.
• Inform order handling clerks of packages ready for shipment
• Properly identify incoming goods and place inventory items in correct storage locations.
• Responsible for notifying supervisor of incorrect shipments or damaged goods.
• Responsible for maintaining the warehouse in an orderly fashion and keeping walkways free of material.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred.
• Basic math skills to assist with inventory management tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
• Physical capability to lift heavy items as needed and stand for extended periods.
