- Develop plans which enable the hospital center to establish a seizure/epilepsy monitoring program that provides efficient and competent video monitoring to aid in the determination of patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Interface with administration on staffing and capital requirements necessary to run an efficient service.
- Interpret and report EEG studies (Paterson/Wayne) in an appropriate timeframe.
- Establish and oversee an EEG reading panel.
- Conduct educational meetings with technologists to review records, improve techniques, and monitor study quality.
- Provide ongoing in-service education for nursing staff and assist in reviewing nursing policies and procedures related to video monitoring of patients.
- Develop CQI and PI plans with staff, review outcomes, and implement corrective action plans.
- Assist in marketing development and outreach efforts to hospital and community physicians.
- Evaluate new and existing equipment, troubleshoot problems, meet with company representatives, and maintain equipment utilization by the program.
- Implement and conduct combined adult and pediatric epilepsy conferences/meetings.
- Present Grand Rounds or similar lectures.
- Implement epilepsy teaching rounds with house staff.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Neurology and Chairman of Medicine.
- Serve as consulting neurologist on unassigned and private patients.
- Share general neurology call coverage (approximately 1:4).
- Precept Neurology clinic (1 morning/week) (DePaul Center).
- Collaborate with designated Advance Practice Nurses assigned to neurology/stroke.
- Read, interpret, and report EEGs.
- Maintain a private practice office (mix of epilepsy and general neurology).
- Participate in ongoing clinical research and clinical trials.
- Assist in developing clinical guidelines for neurology, epilepsy, and EMU.
- Attend neurology/stroke/Department of Medicine meetings as required.
- Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement efforts within the Division of Neurology.
- Teach medical residents and students rotating through Neurology.
- Provide lectures, Grand Rounds, and morbidity & mortality discussions for residents.
- Collaborate with Nursing and other departments in educational efforts related to Neurology.
- Maintain ABMS recognized Board Certification in Neurology or one of its subspecialties.
- Develop a specific area of clinical interest within the Neuroscience Service Line.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Chief of Neurology and Chairman of Medicine.

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The salary range does not include incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation.
