Since 1947, the Boys & Girls Club (BGCC) has supported the Clifton community in providing quality youth development programs for youth aged 3-18. The BGCC serves over 6,000 youth annually and continues to grow, remaining dedicated to the community’s ever-changing needs.

The Boys & Girls Club of Clifton is seeking a patient, engaging, and dependable tutor. The tutor will support students by providing academic assistance and homework help in a positive, encouraging environment. This position focuses on reinforcing classroom learning, improving study habits, and helping students build confidence in their academic skills. Tutors will work closely with staff to monitor progress and ensure each student’s individual needs are met.
Key Responsibilities- Provide homework assistance and academic support to students in a variety of subjects.
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages participation and confidence.
- Reinforce classroom learning and help students develop effective study and organizational skills.
- Adapt tutoring methods to meet the individual learning needs of each student.
- Track student progress and communicate updates to program staff as needed.
- Encourage good study habits, responsibility, and a love for learning.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment at all times.
- Support program activities and uphold the Boys & Girls Club’s mission and values.
Standing, walking, run/jog, leaning, bending, sitting. Must be able to lift 30lbs.
Qualifications EducationPrior experience working with children or tutoring students preferred.
Skills- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Comfortable working with children and families in a busy environment
- Able to remain professional and positive under pressure
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
SchedulePart-time, in-person position. Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with potential for additional hours on Fridays.
Compensation$15.49 Hourly
