The Clifton Public School District is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to join our middle school team for tenure-track positions beginning in September 2025

Position Overview:


As a Special Education Teacher, you will provide specially designed instruction to students with IEPs in inclusive or self-contained settings, depending on individual needs. You will collaborate closely with general education teachers, the Child Study Team, content area coaches, related service providers, administrators, and families to ensure students make meaningful progress in the least restrictive environment.

• Deliver instruction aligned with the NJSLS and district goals, using Board-approved curriculum and resources.
• Provide instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with their IEPs.
• Establish clear learning objectives and regularly prepare lesson plans to support academic growth.
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals using district-approved systems.
• Create a supportive, engaging classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and access to learning.
• Use instructional time efficiently to maximize learning outcomes.
• Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student progress and classroom support.
• Collaborate with the Child Study Team and participate in annual IEP meetings with families and staff to review and update student programs.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain certification through workshops and training opportunities.
• Valid New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) or Teacher of the Handicapped certification (required or anticipated);
  Middle School with Subject Matter Specialization Grades 5-8 preferred
• Experience at the middle school level preferred
• Knowledge of special education law, IEP processes, and evidence-based practices
• Effective communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Full-time, 10-month contract
