Project Engineer – Building Automation Systems
We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer specializing in Building Automation Systems to join our team. This role involves managing the entire lifecycle of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our clients.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage projects following established processes and provide guidance to assisting Project Engineers.
- Complete projects in accordance with contractual requirements, ensuring they are within budget, delivered on time, and meet a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the financial performance of assigned projects, including planning, billing, revenue forecasting, accounts receivable collections, and re-estimating installation costs.
- Manage the delivery of the contracted scope and secure change orders for expanded project scopes.
- Coordinate project materials and shared resources, identify resource constraints, and implement corrective action plans as necessary.
- Manage relationships with subcontractors, identify issues, and develop corrective action plans to address them.
- Bachelor’s Degree in HVAC (Building Automation Controls) from a 3‑ or 4‑year program.
- PMP Certification.
- Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving, planning, and project management skills.
- Proficient in project financial reporting.
- Ability to handle multiple challenges simultaneously.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in electrical engineering, project coordination, and cost control.
- Proficiency in project scheduling, estimating, and budgeting.
- Familiarity with building automation systems.
This position covers the New Jersey territory. Candidates drive their own vehicles and are reimbursed for daily expenses, including tolls and mileage up to 56 miles per day. They are not required to report to Clifton daily and can travel directly to job sites from their homes. Once transitioned to a full‑time employee, additional benefits include a company car, EZ pass, and company credit card.
Typical working hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with no on‑call shifts required in the installation group. The role offers growth opportunities, especially within software engineering, and encourages interaction with software for modifications and new developments.
