Real Estate Tax Accountant

A large private Real Estate Investment & Development firm is seeking a strong Real Estate Tax Accountant to join their growing team. This position reports to the head of tax and accounting and will be groomed to take on the position of Tax Director. Responsibilities:

Draft and provide entity level trial balances to external tax firm for annual return preparation.

Review and approve final tax return for filing.

Proactive advisory and strategic planning for upcoming or potential taxation impact events.

Annual projection of operating entities income, entity annual filings and compliance reporting for various states and federal requirements.

Oversee all filing requirements as they develop, annual updating of depreciation and amortization schedules.

Assist in development of specific projects as needed in the development of property entities and exchanges as needed for tax planning.

Requirements:

BS Accounting

2 to 10+ years of real estate tax experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong tax research skills

Knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel and Word).

Desire and willingness to learn and grow professionally and take on challenging new tasks.

Strong leadership skills.
