Job DescriptionThe Space and Airborne Systems Segment of L3
Harris Technologies is seeking a Sr. Supervisor, Production Planning to join our team in Clifton, New Jersey. The ideal candidate is an energetic individual with strong problem-solving ability as well as excellent skills in the areas of communication (both written and verbal); organization (physical and electronic); collaboration; and interpersonal interactions. The candidate must be detailed-oriented, reliable, able to prioritize, follow-up, and possess strong time management skills.
Depot Repairs is responsible for identifying and resolving hardware problems and communicating hardware statuses within a timely manner. Under the general supervision, this position is responsible for oversight of lower level professionals or supervisors and/or higher level support. Communicates with parties inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret policies, practices, and procedures. Makes improvements to processes, systems, and solutions.
Plans and establishes operational objectives for a team with moderate impact on department results. Understands basic management approaches and has proficient knowledge of job area.
- Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle to meet production requirements.
- Assists in the development of strategic plans for depot activity; implements and manages depot plans
- Advises management of the status of work in progress, coordinates with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain and interfaces with engineering and program management as well as external customers.
- Ensures availability of materials and labor to meet production requirements and delivery commitments.
- Works to resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
- Recommends improvements to processes and policies in support of organizational goals; implements departmental policies and procedures to maximize output
- Presents corrective and preventative actions to maintain world-class customer service and continuous improvement
- Collaborates with other department supervisors to ensure smooth inter-department processes and procedures
- Completes all projects assigned by management within the required timeframe
- Leads periodic inventory audits in the department and reconciles physical counts
- Interfaces with Operations Program Managers, Shop Floor Supervisors, and Operations Leadership to schedule and prioritize hardware completions
- Facilitates coordination and communication between supporting functions to develop a strategy to increase repair throughput and reduce cycle times
- Creates, tracks, and monitors monthly metrics and exceeds monthly delivery goals defined internally by implementing a repair strategy for increasing repair velocity
- Regularly reviews and updates command media and creates SOP work instructions
- Maintains team engagement and a positive work environment, supporting the company’s culture
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
