- Program, set up, and operate CMM equipment (e.g., Zeiss, Mitutoyo, Hexagon, or similar) using PC-DMIS
, Calypso
, or other relevant software. - Conduct detailed dimensional inspections of plastic injection-molded components
, tooling, and assemblies per engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer requirements. - Interpret and apply engineering blueprints
, 3D CAD models
, and technical specifications to inspection processes. - Maintain, verify, and calibrate measurement equipment to ensure accuracy and traceability.
- Generate and document First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs),
PPAP documentation
, and other quality control reports. - Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and tool room teams to identify and resolve dimensional or process‑related quality issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing data and recommending process adjustments or improvements.
- Maintain a clean, organized inspection area and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree or technical training preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in dimensional inspection or CMM programming, preferably in an injection molding or precision manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of GD&T,
blueprint reading
, and metrology principles
. - Experience with measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, height gauges, vision systems, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
Preferred:
- Experience with CAD software (Solid Works, Creo, or similar).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001
, IATF 16949
, or other quality management systems. - Background in plastic part dimensional control or mold qualification processes.
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and occasional standing or lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Regular collaboration with production, toolroom, and engineering departments.
