As a Registered Nurse Non‑Acute, you will provide direct care to complex neurologic patients, coordinating with interdisciplinary team members to achieve optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assessment
- Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
- Performs age‑ and disease‑specific assessment in an independent, systematic manner.
- Recognizes clinical and diagnostic status changes.
- Identifies variables in patient/family education needs based on age, disease, and culture.
- Plan
- Develops a patient‑ and family‑centered care plan with specific goals and interventions.
- Coordinates and prioritizes care across the continuum.
- Implementation
- Communicates, coordinates, and implements the care plan.
- Provides ongoing communication with patients, families, and the health‑care team.
- Implements age‑ and disease‑specific care in an organized, timely manner.
- Ensures patient/family education and understanding.
- Performs clinical protocols, documentation, and medication administration using bar‑scanning technology.
- Facilitates multidisciplinary discharge planning.
- Evaluation
- Evaluates progress toward outcomes and employs critical thinking to reach desired results.
- Initiates interventions for changes in condition or unexpected responses.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Identifies ethical issues and communicates them to the team.
- Responds to opportunities to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Maintains required qualifications, certifications, and continuing education.
- Adheres to the American Nurses Association Code and HMH competencies.
- Leaps a minimum of 35 lbs.; pushes/pulls allowed weight; stands up to 6 hrs/day.
- Performs other duties or projects as assigned.
- Education:
BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years; (applicants hired after Nov 2019). - Skills:
Quick learner, adaptable, accountable, teamwork‑focused, dedicated to ongoing education, patient‑centric, with strong communication and critical‑thinking skills. - Preferred:
National certification in specialty area. - Licenses &
Certifications:
NJ State Professional RN license; BLS/CPR certification within 60 days of hire.
Minimum hourly rate: $45.02 (base pay).
