R&D Formulation Scientist - Soft Gel

We are looking for an experienced R&D Formulation Scientist specializing in soft gels to join our innovative team. You will partner closely with sales and customers to support product requirements and technical needs, develop formulations for various products, and collaborate with sourcing and purchasing teams to ensure material availability and cost efficiency.

• Develop formulations for oils, waters, soft gels, two-piece capsules, powders, and granulations.
• Troubleshoot technical formulation issues and provide expert problem-solving support.
• Assist with analytical testing and quality assessments.
• Perform hands-on work in the Product Development laboratory.
• Utilize analytical instrumentation including GC, HPLC, and ICP-MS.
• Evaluate laboratory capabilities and identify opportunities for future R&D expansion.
• Work effectively with a predominantly Spanish-speaking laboratory team.

• 3+ years of R&D formulation experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field.
• Expertise in soft gels.
• Experience in the nutraceutical industry.
• Skilled in HPLC, GC, and ICP.

• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Experience with raw materials and quality control.
• Knowledge of analytical chemistry and fish oils.

The position will report to the Quality Director until a future R&D Director is hired. Initially, there will be only two R&D formulators on the team until the acquisition expands the team. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, 100% on-site. The dress code is business casual.

Permanent position based out of Clifton, NJ.

Pay range: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year. 401K, holidays and vacation hours, sick time. Potential future team leadership.

Fully onsite in Clifton, NJ.

Anticipated closing Jan 23, 2026.
