Warehouse Team Lead

Job Description

A warehouse team leader is responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of team members employed to work on a given project in an organization, to ensure operations run seamlessly.

• Receiving and Put-away all inbound freight according to procedural standards.
• Picking and Shipping customers' orders, as well as 3PL items, in accordance with procedural standards.
• Product Distribution to and from Manufacturing.

• Ensures warehouse stocking area is clean and well-maintained, in accordance with federal, state, and local safety rules.
• Step in to resolve conflicts that may arise between workers on site, and exhibit good sense of judgment to ensure that parties involved are treated fairly without bias.
• Work as the middleman between management and workers to facilitate good communication and airing of complaints from both parties, and see to it that all issues are sorted out.
• Check all outgoing stocks to ensure that they are in good condition and make sure that all documents are accurately signed for proper documentation.
• Ensure that stock inventory is carried out in a timely manner and that it is in line with the stock balance to avoid mix up.

• Receives and tags items in the warehouse with barcode labels, pallet tags, allergen stickers etc.
• Ensures stocked items are organized, allergen separated and readily accessible.

• Examines items in inventory for defects, damage and reports this information to Inventory Control Department.
• Reports any and all quality defects of ingredients to the Quality control team.

• Must have RF scanning system knowledge.
• Previously trained operated reach and hi-lows.
• Knowledge of FIFO system
• Ability to work off pick lists and system driven reports.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Strong communication skills; verbally and in writing. Bilingual Spanish a plus.
• Ability to build excellent working relationships and work collaboratively and efficiently with others.
• Exhibit self-motivation, confidence, energy, & ability to operate under pressure.
• Detail oriented with standard mathematical acumen.
• Sound understanding and application of safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to use warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Ability to effectively use Microsoft software, i.e., Word, Excel.
• Standard ability to apply general mathematical concepts.

• Dry, refrigerated and Freezer conditions.
• Regularly works near moving machinery and mechanical parts sometimes in high places.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally high.
• Products manufactured in the facility may contain peanuts, milk and tree nuts.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for the duration of the production shift. In addition, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
• The employee is frequently required to sit; climb; balance, stoop, and kneel or crouch.
• Regularly required to use hands to fingers, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• High School Diploma and one year warehousing operation, or any equivalent combination of education and experience to include two (5) years of experience using a forklift and reach truck and knowledge of experience using order picker and scissor lift.
• Four years minimum experience with RF scanning systems.
